DESIGN AND TENDER PROCESS
Being a custom design builder means we do things differently to some other builders you may meet. We don’t have hundreds of designs for you to flick through to find something that suits, we custom design and build a home that you not only love but also meets the uniqueness of your block. Every block is different and has its own benefits and challenges, we design a home that meets your wish-list while suiting things like the aspect and slope of your site. To go through the design and tender process with DJ Homes involves the following steps that we hope not only makes this process one that delivers a home that suits you and your budget but makes the building process an enjoyable one.
Going through the custom build design process can seem like a daunting task, we try and make it as simple as possible while giving our clients the flexibility that only a custom design build can offer. We are honest and upfront on all costs involved in building your new home and we encourage everyone, no matter which builder you end up choosing, to make as many selections as possible before signing a contract to ensure you are aware and have budgeted for all costs. We feel that going through this process with us or another builder is a smart option as we can give constant feedback on costs regarding different design options and inclusions to ensure we are working within your budget.

GOT YOUR OWN DESIGN? We would be more than happy to provide a no obligation tender. After this we encourage our clients to go through the interior and kitchen design part of step 3 to ensure they have all costs covered when signing a contract, the fee for this service is $3,000. (Price on application for customised joinery) These amounts count towards build contract deposit if you build with DJ Homes.
There are costs involved in going through this process with DJ Homes. Where we differ from most builders is we do not retain any copyright on the work we do for you. We believe that if you pay for plans or design work, you own them. You are free to do whatever you like with the plans even if that doesn’t involve building with DJ Homes, although we are confident that with the level of service and the honesty in pricing right through this process you will want us to deliver your home.
